Born in Kyoto Japan, Akira moved to Australia in 1986 where he studied fashion design at the Sydney Institute of Technology, drawing inspiration from contemporary Japanese design. He has achieved international recognition for his exquisite designs, which are sought after in every major fashion capital throughout the world

Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week

First day of London Fashion Week (February 10) saw Topshop Unique fall 2008 show, a collection that will hit the US market next season. Yep, Topshop is on its way to New York, due to open its first U.S. store on Broadway in October.

Topshop Unique Fall 2008

The designer team at Topshop got all dark and serious for fall 2008 season: black leather leggings were worn under oversized knits, tweed dresses and parkas as well as sheer tunics. There were also a leather suit and leather shift frocks. Color was brought in by hooded knit ponchos, pale blue denim and patchwork-printed chiffon dresses.
